Drop City Gallery is pleased to present In-Cite a solo exhibition of new work by Alison Keogh. As an architect and an artist, Keogh's work is grounded in the patterns and textures of the natural world, manipulating her materials as an exploration to "reveal the invisible." This three-part exhibition features Shards of Clay: a site specific installation of clay on the gallery floor, Graphite Botanicals: delicate and intricate studies of plant matter, and Keogh's newest work, a series of Newsprint Reliefs. The Newsprint Reliefs depict the patterns of her breath as she manipulates and layers the British Financial Times newspaper into topographical landscapes on board. The Newsprint series concerns "the discovery of nature within the newspaper... it transcends its ordinary daily purpose as a conveyer of "news" [and] now expresses itself through an altered state of being." Keogh's fascination with repetitive gestures, textures and breathing patterns infuse her work with a state of heightened awareness.

Keogh has exhibited her work in many group exhibitions throughout Belgium, Sweden, Southern California and Arizona, as well as a solo exhibit at Tiffany & Co. in California. In-Cite is her first solo exhibition in Seattle.
